Announcing WVLO's Spectacular 58th Season!

November 2023 / July 2024

WVLO Musical Theatre Company is excited to present another fun-filled season of shows!

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Opening our season is the award-winning musical based on the 1974 comedy film of the same name, written by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks. It follows on the heels of Mel Brook’s extraordinarily successful musical, The Producers, with a musical version of this film classic, Young Frankenstein. To translate Brooks’ 1974 black & white parody of the 1930’s horror film to the Broadway stage, castles, laboratories, lightning bolts, and rampaging torch-carrying villagers were recreated. The monster was suited in green, visibly stitched together and did the famous “Puttin’ On The Ritz” number in tie and tails. The score also includes “Together Again”, “Welcome to Transylvania”, and “Join The Family Business”.

Saturday, November 4, 2023 through Saturday, December 2, 2023.

ALL SHOOK UP

This entertaining musical comedy featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, set in the summer of 1955 in a small Midwestern town. The story revolves around Chad, a hip-swiveling, guitar-playing roustabout, who helps the town discover the magic of romance and the power of rock and roll. The timeless songs include “Love Me Ten- der”, “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, “Fools Fall In Love” and of course, the chart-topper, “All Shook Up”!

Saturday, March 9, 2024 through Saturday, April 6, 2024.

THE WEDDING SINGER

This musical comedy is a Saratoga stage premiere of the 1998 film and tells the story of Robbie, New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. Heartbroken after his fiancée leaves him at the altar, he is forced to reexamine the meaning of love and marriage. With the help of Julia, a waitress from one of his wedding-singing venues, will he find love again and live happily ever after? This show won five Tony and eight Drama Desk nominations in 2006 and is filled with 1980’s references to music games, events and even business and includes the following songs; “It’s Your Wedding Day”, “Let Me Come Home”, “Casualty Of Love” and “Grow Old With You”.

Saturday, June 29, 2024 through Saturday, July 27, 2024.
