Music by Cy Coleman, Lyrics by Dorothy Fields, Book by Neil Simon

 Cast & Staff

A musical comedy written by Neil Simon, "Sweet Charity" is about the life of Charity Hope Valentine, who is a true, original, eternal optimist - and the unluckiest romantic in New York City.

This award-winning musical opened on Broadway in 1966 starring Gwen Verdon, revived in 1986 with Debbie Allen, who was later replaced with Ann Reinkin and then had another successful revival in 2005. This Broadway musical offers fun, laughs and good times with its tuneful score and sparkling Bob Fosse dances.

Coleman's score includes such hits as "Big Spender", "If My Friends Could See Me Now", "There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This" and "Baby, Dream Your Dream".

From the first musical number to the last, Charity will win your heart.
